Creating original recipes for a baking contest is a challenge. There is nothing more gratifying than to have qualified food professionals judge your recipe and declare it a winner. You will find a few of my most popular award winning recipes in this round-up.

I was lucky enough to be a contestant in the National Cornbread Festival Cook Off down in South Pittsburg, TN. There is nothing like homemade corn bread and this national recipe contest and cook-off is one of the best in the country. I placed second. I love cooking in a Lodge cast iron skillet.
