Good Grief Cook’s Best Recipes

Jan 1, 2017 ·

What to Write? What to write? What to write? I got nothin’! So instead I will share YOUR top 3 favorite recipes from all my years of blogging. BTW-your favorites are for sure some of mine. May love always guide you in the kitchen.

heart cookie
Sweet William’s Fancy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Not one bit surprised that the recipe that got me started writing made the list. Who doesn’t love a perfectly crisp chocolate chip cookie with a soft inside spiked with bourbon? http://www.goodgriefcook.com/2013/10/21/following-in-his-light-with-cookies/

chicken mole
Shredded Chicken Mole

I love this recipe not only for its easy great flavor, but also for inspiring me to learn more about food photography. This one made the foodgawker list and I could not have been more proud. Hope to graduate from my iPhone to a real digital camera in 2017. http://www.goodgriefcook.com/2015/04/30/building-relationships-flavor-a-give-away/

grilled pork sandwiches
Maple Smoked Pickled Pork Sliders

Last but not least is this porky goodness on a Hawaiian roll. It’s the contrast in temperatures, textures and flavors that makes this one a winner. http://www.goodgriefcook.com/2016/07/17/wills-meerkats-pork-sliders/

Gather the ones you love most as often as you can.

Thank you for this, I hadn’t seen the mole post with the hilarious and sweet pic of Will smoking the cigar at graduation. What a guy you had! I love that Annabelle is looking at your hands. Happy New Year dear friend!

My Will was a sweet rascal and gave me a few of these grey hairs….always on the edge of the danger zone….he loved greatly, too. Best to you and all those sweet kids that surround you.

Lisa, I faithfully read, but lately haven’t been good at finding much to say to anyone. I have made all three of these recipes and felt I needed to let you know how much I still enjoy your blog. Peace and joy to you and your family in the new year.

Comments are not necessary. I know you are here because of what we share in our hearts. Truthfully we both know there is nothing that anyone can say or do to make us feel better. The only thing that can fix us is to have our sons be alive and well, but we can’t have that and so there are no words. I wish I could tell you it gets better, but it doesn’t…..we just find other ways to be distracted and find joy hopefully there
