With effortless prep of just a few ingredients, you get to spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the game.

Fly Eagles Fly

And oh what a game it is. Living just outside of Philadelphia I am a huge Eagles fan, so I just had to come up with a very special Super Bowl game day meal. Let's just say if Saquon Barkley is the single most potent weapon on the gridiron in the world right now then Miller's Banana Pepper Sauces are all that in your kitchen. Did you know that Millers is a family run business right here in PA? Their crowd pleasing sauces will take your game day spread to the next level. Try Miller's Banana Pepper Sauces in quesadillas, candied nuts and even in your Philly cheese steak. Let's go team Pennsylvania.

Three bottles of pepper sauce.

I  am 1 of 30 bloggers invited to share innovative ideas in an exclusive recipe challenge hosted by Millerโ€™s Banana Pepper Sauce! Once I opened and tasted all 3 sauces my creative juices began to flow. These pepper sauces have the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and tangy rarely found in a pepper sauce. The bold flavors are delicious and healthy with heat levels that only enhance a dish.

This recipe is entered in the Game Day/Entertaining category, but it's also a healthy alternative for those who prefer to avoid the traditional red meat filled cheese steak smothered in cheese whiz.

Chicken Cheese Steak Ingredients

Ingredients for Philly chicken cheese steak.
  • Sliced cooked chicken, white meat or dark

Equipment

  • 1 large skillet with lid

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cubanelle or green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • ยฝ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 cups sliced cooked chicken white meat or dark
  • ยฝ cup Millerโ€™s Banana Pepper Sauce plus additional for serving
  • 6 slices deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 6 Italian or hoagie rolls sliced in half, but not completely through

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • In large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add onions and peppers and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until just softened. Season with salt.
  • Add chicken and banana pepper sauce. Cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until chicken is warmed through.
  • Spread the chicken, peppers and onions into an even layer over the bottom of the skillet. Top evenly with cheese. Cover, turn off the heat and let stand for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Meanwhile, place rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes or until toasted on the outside.
  • Open warm rolls and fill with cheese steak mixture, cheese-side-up.

Notes

If you prefer your rolls soft on the outside, then instead of toasting them, fill rolls with cheese steak mixture, wrap in foil and warm in the oven for 5 minutes.
Some rolls come already sliced in half. It's best to have rolls that are not sliced all the way through, but intact on one side.ย

I am usually not a fan of hot sauce, but this is so much more with a ton of flavor and not just heat.
